Hell yeah! Fiber arts are key. @stryeyz does just about everything but knit. She crochets, spins, weaves, dyes, and felts. My mom is the big knitter. It is one of the oldest trades and one of the most important for humans in the northern tier, we need warm cover. Encourage that drive as it can lead to cool things in life.
My Mom is super crafty and she learned a lot from her mom. My Grandma passed about 1 year ago. To think all the creative knowledge she passed on, and the amount that went with her. I got a niece that is really into crafts, and when these cousins get together they have all kinds of fun.
